Shaun is 47 years of age. He started work as a Trainee Civil Engineer with Northamptonshire County Council.
He left local government after training to work for a national contractor. Shaun then came back into local government in 1986 and helped create one of the first combined direct services departments in the country at Bedford.
He became Director of Commercial Services in 1994 and Chief Executive of Bedford Borough Council in March 2000.
An advocate of trading and shared services he continues to directly manage Bedford’s Commercial Services Department which returns on average over £1.2 million profit per annum to Bedford’s Borough Council.
