The timely provision of infrastructure to support the homes and jobs growth is critical to the development of any new community. Renaissance Bedford is working with partners to:
• develop an infrastructure investment and delivery programme; and
• deliver a wide range of supporting infrastructure projects.
We are leading the development of a ‘business plan’ document that will summarise all infrastructure projects required to deliver sustainable communities in the area. It draws together the capital programmes already established in the strategies of wide range of infrastructure delivery partners, including health, education, transport, utilities, greenspace and others.
In terms of the projects, transport is the most visible with the A421 Great Barford Bypass and the first phase of the Bedford Western Bypass completed with the Thameslink improvements and the A421 Bedford to M1 J13 improvements underway. Plans are advancing for the second phase of the Bedford Western Bypass, for East West Rail and a number of other projects.
