Since Renaissance Bedford was formed in 2005, it has worked closely with the local authorities and other key partners to achieve many outcomes, most significantly:
· Securing Growth Area Funding of £18.7 Million.
· Using these funds to help deliver 19 projects including, Bedford Town Centre West, Bedford Station Quarter, Flitwick Town Centre, and studies to design and deliver the Bedford Western Bypass Phase 2. Also included in these projects are Biggleswade Town Centre Master Plan, and various green and blue infrastructure projects to help provide sustainable communities.
· Preparation of an Infrastructure Delivery Programme, to ensure the co-ordinated delivery of the full range of infrastructure required to underpin the sustainable delivery of the new homes and jobs.
· Helping to secure Center Parcs holiday village which will create 1,500 new jobs; Colworth Science Park (250 new jobs), Twinwoods Business Park (50 new jobs).
· Working with English Partnerships and local authorities to ensure delivery of the first phase of the Bedford Western Bypass.
